Uncovering the synodic period of seven main belt asteroids

Source: WorldAtlas

Znith Astronomy Observatory has recently participated in joint scientific research together with other Maltese Observatories to study the synodic period of 7 main-belt asteroids.

The results of this study have been published in the peer-reviewed journal The Minor Planet Bulletin.

This and other similar studies can be used to understand correlations between an asteroid's rotational period, and its classifications in terms of size and location within the main asteroid belt.
