Prominent festoons and barges extend throughout the equatorial zone of Jupiter

As usual, unlike transparency, seeing conditions are currently poor. This makes planetary imaging highly challenging. Equally difficult is the subsequent image processing which because of the low quality becomes equally demanding. I often need to group several subsets of  thousands of images depending on their quality before stacking and choosing the best one out of a session of around 30 minutes imaging at high rates, often at around 250 frames per second.

The infrared image is showing finer detail because of the more stable imaging at this wavelength. This is why this filter is one of my favourite for planetary imaging.
