A total of 1400 high quality images of the nightsky were collected and analysed to officially reclassify a star from the New Catalogue of Suspected Variable Stars - NSV 1586 to a U Geminorum class variable stars, possibly pertaining to the Z Cam/IW And subclass.
Our stellar reclassification has been published in the Journal of the American Association of Variable Star Observers.
Apart from studying in detail the variation of its brightness, on which we based our star classification, we have managed to approximate its temperature change during minimum and maximum brightness to 1300 Kelvin, which is equivalent to a 22% change of our sun's brightness.
Further monitoring is directed towards this unique star in order to further understand the enigmatic variability of this star.
